Earthing, Fresh Herbs & Upcoming Events

Last month we focused on our quiet time in the Forest.  EARTHING. Bathing in the sounds of the forest, BAREFOOT.

As we continue to walk through the forest barefoot, stop.  Listen.  Be one with the forest.  It will come alive around you if you are motionless.  Take off your shoes. The soil will connect to the souls of your feet.  Allow yourself to become one with this serene environment; it breathes around you.  The Life around you is waiting for stillness so it can feel safe to continue its daily life.

Your feet are barefoot and on the earth in the forest.  Gently crunch your toes inward, curling them under as if to gather the energy of the forest floor. Feel the stretch between and around your toes. Release the toes and lead them into an upward position, where they fan out.  Repeat.  You are increasing your toe flexibility!  That is how simple it is to increase flexibility in your toes.

Toe Flexibility is so important, and here is why.  It can assist your ability to maintain balance, to generate propulsive power during walking or running, and to reduce the risk of falls

Plus, Improved range of motion in the toes helps your feet absorb and distribute pressure more evenly. I hope the sand is being curled up under and around your toes!  You can do this anywhere where there is sand.  Like the beach.

Earthing (or grounding) is the practice of making direct skin contact with the Earth's surface, like walking barefoot on grass, sand, or dirt. Proponents and some preliminary studies suggest it transfers negatively charged electrons into the body, which may act as natural antioxidants to neutralize free radicals and reduce inflammation.

The Plant Walk that we are offering on October 17 will offer Earthing in our protected Forest of Florida Wetlands.  Hope to see you there.
