The Rooted Self | December Edition

Meet Siobhan.

She is introducing a new aspect of herbal applications to the Herbalist Training Program, emphasizing her expertise in the spiritual significance of herbs.

This gifted woman says,” Herbs each carry unique energies and powers. Beyond their medicinal properties and the flavor they bring to our meals, each herb also holds spiritual benefits. As we heal with herbs in the physical, we are simultaneously healing in spirit.

You will find that most herbs can be utilized for multiple purposes. It is important to allow both intuition and knowledge to guide you when using herbs for their spiritual effects. At times you may be drawn to a particular herb without knowing why, and once you uncover its spiritual meaning, you find it is exactly what you needed.”

Intention is the key that unlocks the magic of herbs. Before using herbs for spiritual healing, it is important to bless or enchant them with your intention. This can be done by speaking to the herb or holding it as you focus on your intended use. This action aligns their energy with your purpose.

Honoring the Spirit of Plants

Working with herbs is an ongoing relationship. As we listen, observe, and offer respect to the plants, our bonds with them deepen. Just as each herb offers treatment of the physical body, its wisdom also penetrates the mental, emotional, and spiritual layers of our being.
